Spring is one of the best times to have a great clear-out of your skincare & makeup - and start a healthy fresh regime. Clear away the dull remnants of winter, prepare your skin and reveal its natural glow for the warmer months ahead.
The most effective way regime for spring skincare is a traditional daily three step cleanse-tone-moisturise routine. And the steps below are possible in just three minutes, so even the busiest (or most bed-loving) of you can fit in a full routine with ease.
Your choice of products is key though, as we explain below...
Cleanse
Aiming for healthy skin (or a good makeup base) without cleansing properly is a bit like painting a wall without clearing away the surface debris first!
But use a gentle cleanser that won’t strip away your skin’s natural oils.
Free from sulphates or harsh ingredients, our award-winning Creamy Coconut Cleanser, Silk-Touch Cleanser (a magic gel-to-milk formulation) or Lemon & Tea Tree Facial Wash use the power of pure plant extracts to gently lift away skin debris and make-up leaving your skin clean and comfortable.
Tone
Our 100% natural Calming Rose Super Tonic and Balancing Citrus Super Tonic are a world apart from the high alcohol, artificially preserved kind.
Based on a special distillation of pure organic rose petals naturally balanced to the skin’s pH, they gently clear away resistant surface debris for a smooth clear complexion, refined pores and a soothing or refreshing pick-me-up for the senses.
Wipe away the excess with a cotton pad and this can be as effective at smoothing and regeneration (and more gentle) than using an exfoliating mask (perhaps our Maca Mask?).
Moisturise
In warmer weather your skin naturally tends to produce more oil and moisture, so needs lighter hydration. Opt for Rose Moisturiser, or just a couple of drops of Superfruit Concentrate for an instant hydrating glow with an intense vitamin and UV-damage protecting boost from pomegranate, rosehips and sea buckthorn.
Spring Skincare Do's and Don'ts
Don't...
Don’t use cleansing wipes all the time: Great when you are in a hurry, but they struggle to do a proper job and can leave traces of dirt and remnants of the wipes themselves in the skin...
Do replace mascara every three to six months. You usually get a better effect (and less risk of bacterial build-up) by keeping mascara fresh.
Do...
Do check best-before dates: Most natural skincare keeps well beyond its shelf-life if stored in optimal conditions, but any product (that’s any good) loses its powers eventually.
Do drink enough water - and sleep well: As weather gets warmer and nights get lighter, help your skin with sufficient hydration and rest.
