Teenage Spots & Acne
Pimples and teenage spots are experienced by many teens and young adults, and it can be an embarrassing and uncomfortable problem which can affect self-esteem and confidence.
Teenage skin is much more prone to breakouts because of the hormone levels associated with puberty. Acne, spots and pimples are caused when the sebaceous glands become infected with bacteria, consequently swelling and resulting in redness or puss filled spots. However, in teen skin, because of the increased amounts of hormones in the body, the sebaceous glands sometimes become over active and this results in increased production of oil. If the oil isn’t washed or cleansed away, it can cause a blockage on the skin, trapping bacteria and leading to pimples and spots.
Teenage spots and pimples can be improved with a gentle and nourishing skincare routine; it’s really important to wash and cleanse the face to remove impurities and to help stop the spread of bacteria to prevent pimples.
