Product Overview

This Dark Brown hair dye is suitable for darkening blonde, grey, or medium brown hair.

This 100% organic, Soil Association certified natural hair dye is made entirely from botanical extracts, and is free from all artificial chemicals, PPD, ammonia, peroxide and metallic salts. Unlike synthetic and so-called 'natural hair dye', it improves the condition of your hair, leaving it with increased volume and shine.

The 110g pack is a full-size Dark Brown hair dye, while the 10g pack is a small sachet sample of the dye, for the purpose of strand testing on hair or patch testing on skin. It comes with full instructions.  The pack provides enough colour for average shoulder length hair. If your hair is thick or long you may need more.

The pack also includes atex gloves and a cap.

The likely colour outcome of Dark Brown Hair Dye on different hair colours:

- On very light coloured grey or white it is likely to be more of a light brown with one application but you can build up the colour with a second application.

- On light or medium brown it is likely to result in a dark brown.

- On already dark brown then it is likely to darken it to an even darker brown.

- If your hair is a mixture of brown and white, then it is likely to be an average effect, with the white hair going lighter brown and the dark hair going darker brown.

Because everyone's hair is different in terms of their initial hair colour and their individual hair structure and chemistry, and will take the colour slightly differently. It is impossible to precisely predict the colour outcome. For this reason we recommend strand testing before putting the colour all over your hair.

Instructions:
Full instructions are enclosed in the pack. The following is a summary:

Mix the powder thoroughly with warm water to a smooth paste. Apply the paste to your hair in sections and leave on for 1.5 to 3 hours.  The longer you leave the paste on your hair the darker the colour result will be.

The colour will deepen over a few hours as it oxidises

When you initially rinse out the colour it may not be the full strength of colour. It will darken as the colour oxidises gradually over a few hours.

If you have used henna and indigo before you will understand that after washing it out of your hair it takes time for the colour to oxidise on your hair.

On very light coloured or light grey hair it sometimes appears to be have a green tinge at first, but don’t panic - this will fade gradually over a few hours or days, as the dye oxidises and the colour deepens.

It is not recommended to use chemical bleach on hair that has been dyed with a herbal hair colour containing indigo, unless it has faded or grown out. This is because bleach will not remove indigo so you may possibly be left with a bluish colour. If you do want to try it please strand test first.

Strand Testing:
If it is the first time you have used this hair colour we fully recommend doing a strand test first before putting the hair colour all over your hair, because the colour outcome can vary depending on each person's hair. We also suggest waiting 24 hours after the strand test to see how the colour develops, because the colour will oxidise over time and strengthen.

You may experiment with mixing different shades of It’s Pure Organics Herbal Hair Colours together, to get your own unique shade. However we do recommend you strand test first as we cannot guarantee the outcome of your own combinations.
