I have used a lot of different cleansers over the years, including very expensive ones, but they’ve all only really just washed my face without leaving any benefits. This honey and oat bar makes my skin softer and along with the super fruit serum has evened and improved my skin tone after just a couple of weeks.
No plastic too and looks like it will last ages. Will definitely be purchasing again.
I love this soap, very gentle on skin. Order delivered with minimal (and recyclable/compostable) packaging. Bars last a good length of time but would definitely recommend a soap dish that lets them dry out between uses.
Can’t fault it.... great for use on face or body. All natural, not tested on animals and no palm oil so ticks all the boxes
On the whole my skin does clear up when the weather improves (so could be in part due to that) however using this soap and then followed up immediately with the avocado 24hr cream must also play a part. All winter and spring Iʼve suffered from spots on chin and jaw line. I started using the above two products about 5 weeks ago and Iʼve just got my first spot in 2 weeks so a real improvement. The pores on and around my nose also seem very reduced. At initial use a couple of blackhead firmed up (maybe a pore purge?) but since getting rid of them my complexion is just looking way better. I keep the soap in a soap dish and when washing my face, wet my face, rub the dry bar on chin and jaw then use my fingers to rub the soap around the rest of the face. I do get that tight feeling but as soon as I get the avocado 24hr cream on my skin looks fresh and glowing. Doesnʼt seem to impove back spots unfortunately by my skin there is much more oily.
Although I really like your lavender and tea tree soaps, this one isnʼt for me. I found that it could sting my face as well as leaving it very dry. Also most of the oats stay in the bar, meaning you canʼt feel any benefit from exfoliation unless you were to rub the soap directly on your body, which is too hard to do. Like one of the other reviewers, I found that the only part of me that was getting exfoliated in the shower was my hands.
I have psoriasis on one leg and I find the honey in this bar really helps soothe my legs, it makes my skin feel ultra smooth and the oatmeal lightly exfoliates which is perfect for my sensitive skin as my skin can not handle an abrasive exfoliator. This is perfect for all skin types I would say as it is very soothing and calming. I would love to try the other soap bars too! Especially the lavender one!
This soap does not dry your skin and leaves skin very soft.Would happily purchase it again anad again ....
LONG LASTING AND VERY GENTLE LEAVES SKIN SOFT
This is a very nice, gentle soap and I wanted to like it. I wouldnʼt buy it again though because it started to go mushy and fall apart and I ended up with several soft bits of soap. If the consistency was firmer and it lasted longer as a complete bar of soap I would buy it again.
Hi Rachel, thanks for your review and glad you like the soap! Soap going mushy as not uncommon problem if not left to drain properly as doesnʼt contain artificial hardeners like commercial soap. It should remain firm if left to drain and dry out between uses. Hope that helps! :)
Oh dear, it seems Iʼm in the minority because I did not like this soap bar at all. I have very dry sky and thought this gentle exfoliant would be nice on my face and body. Usually I would avoid all traditional "soap" because of that squeaky clean feel I get after using it (that makes you want to apply moisturiser immediately), and because it stings when you get it in your eyes, and disappointingly this soap was exactly the same. Itʼs okay on my body but Iʼm not sure how the oats are supposed to exfoliate your skin unless you use the bar directly on your body (not an easy thing to do with slippery soap) and so instead the only parts of me exfoliated were my hands... I am a big fan of all the other Odylique products Iʼve tried but Iʼm afraid this one gets a thumbs down from me...
For day to day use, our Honey and Oat Cleansing Bar is intended for day to day gentle exfoliation (including the face) but if you have very dry skin and areas needing targeted exfoliation, the Cleansing Bar could be supplemented with treatment with Coconut Candy Scrub, formulated for more concentrated exfoliation, whilst leaving the driest of skin smooth and polished.
Contains excellent ingredients. Do note that all soap is saponified using lye. A very good soap for all skin especially sensitive and dry. The only downside is they do not very long as they are not double, triple or quadruple-milled, which makes them very costly. Please Odylique, double or triple mill them.
Glad to hear you like the soap, Adeela! In regards to double milling the soaps, this is only relevant to commercial soaps which are made by melting bulk-purchased dried soap ‘noodles’ in water – milling simply ensures the reconstituted soap mix is smooth and free from grittiness.
As our castile bars are made from scratch with pure organic extra virgin olive oil according to the traditional cold-process method, milling doesn’t come into it. Drying during the curing process is what makes soaps harder and long-lasting (ours are dried for 6 weeks before sale), as does allowing them to drain and dry out between use.
Hope this helps! :)
This soap scrubs gently your face, leaving it very soft. Also, it smells very good. Would happily purchase it again :-)
